What the labour market owes to theemerging macroeconomic trend in India is very vital for its being productive. Thecrux is, the job market improvisation impacts not only India’s growth but alsothe global market.  This is because thelabour in India is abundant and the paramount thing is more than 50% ofworkfolk are to be younger generations in the next few decades.

The following steps should beensured for India to be prospective in her economical expansion as well as jobcreation. .

  • Creating more and better Jobs for the whole population.
  • In fact Indian Prime Minister Mr.Modi addressed this issue directly in his speech to the UN General Assembly  saying that Indian “development is intrinsically linked to empowerment of women.” Female share of the wage earning class should be enhanced.
  • The formalization of economy and labour particularly due to pressure from globalization is a major challenge to be won.
  • The government should revamp the labour law and regulations. The policies should be afresh and both the interests of employers and labourers should be secured. If actual growth has to be achieved then the current and emerging labour market potentials should be explored with every care being taken not to compromise the interests of labour force.

The mostemerging G20 and labour rich Indian economy have gained more by increase in workforcerather than being employment enriched. This leads to a surge in job creationand growth.

To makefor labour efflux India should implement three points to have surplus jobs.

  • The shift from agricultural to manufacturing and the policy change and bold decisions including increased job opportunities for people in their native town rather than for migrant workers should be enforced.
  •  The growth should empower women, marginalized groups and rural mass; and it should also be a growth for better quality and sustainability.  .
  • Strong policy decisions in regular concurrence with both blue collar and employer organizations should be taken by Government to face this multifaceted challenge.

Takingadvantage of plentiful proletariat, for India to become the most powerfulemerging economy in the next decade there should be a complete “transformationof this billion into a productive workforce.”

Itis the demographic window that should be channelized for the better.  5 sectors are identified where the employmentgeneration and business growth spree can occur.

Information technology

 TELECOM

The current 850 million mobilephone subscribers; with a 15% smart phone penetration is restricted mostly to urbanIndia.  India today is at a stage intelecom growth that probably America was 30 years ago. Our mobile and Internet diffusionhas to go up further with the major part of rural market being unexplored.

 HEALTHCARE

The healthcare is set to generate -Over 40 million new jobs by 2020, as per a report titled'India's New Opportunities-2020' by the All India Management Association,Boston Consulting Group and the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII).

The medical treatment andeducational services in India are inexpensive only a quarter of the cost whencompared to developed countries and medical tourism can be promoted at large.

With disposable income on the risethe potential in domestic market upturns and other subsectors of this industrylike HR, IT has good opening.

 INFRASTRUCTURE

The burgeoning infrastructure whichis mandatory for a developing country like India accelerates 7- 10 % moreemployment in the next decade.  Theroadways, railways, aviation, shipping .energy, power and oil and gas are the appositesectors, the currently unorganized precinct will change and help India becomethe fastest growing economy in the world.

RETAIL

Despite asmall percentage of this section being organized, most part of it, is to emergefrom rural market which is to take the highest toll of “more than $400 billion”

MAKING POSITIVE IMPRESSIONS ON YOURINTERVIEW,CONFERENCE, MEETING ETC…

You may have heardthatyou only get one chance to make a positive first impression and thatfirstimpressions are lasting. Theworkforce is full of opportunities tomake first impressions, and these crucialinteractions can either make or breakyour ability to get hired and succeed. Inaddition to job interviews, considerthe impression you make when meeting newclients, interacting with customers, introducing yourself to a new team member, leading a meeting, or speaking to amanager for the first time. However, notall first impressions take placeface-to-face: emails, phone or videointerviews, and your socialmedia presencearealso sources of first-time contacts.

According to Mr.Bill Lampton, Ph.D.: "You never get asecond chance to make a goodfirst impression." Also, psychologists, writers, and seminar leaderscaution that we only have from seven to seventeenseconds of interacting withstrangers before they form an opinion of us.

With this widely acknowledged pressureto "make ourcase" instantly, here are my seven tips for making yourfirst impressionstrongly positive.

1.   Thegreatest way to make a positivefirst impression is to demonstrate immediatelythat the other person, not you,is the center of action and conversation. Illustrate that the spotlight is on you only, and you'llmissopportunities for friendships, jobs, love relationships, networking, andsales.Show that you are other-centered, and first-time acquaintances will beeager tosee you again.

2.   Nonverbally, you show you're a skilledlistener by maintainingsteady eye contact. Rememberhow yourespond to the social gadabout who appears to be looking over yourshoulder forthe next person he wants to corner. Remember, and avoid that habit.

3.   Use the name of a new acquaintancefrequently. "Judy, I likethat suggestion." "Your vacationmust have been exciting, Fred."You show that you have paid attention fromthe start, catching the name duringthe introduction. Equally as important, you'll make conversations more personalby including the listener's name severaltimes.

4.    Becareful withhumor. Althougha quip ortwo might serve as an icebreaker, stay away from sarcastic remarksthat couldbackfire.

5.   Giving up the need to be right." Confrontationswith somebody you've just met will destroy rapport beforeyou even startbuilding it. Wait until you have established credibility beforeyou challengeanother's statements.

6.   Appearance counts. Dressingtofit with the impression you want to create, clothes that suit you and thatyoufeel confident in.

7.   As a communication specialist, I haveto point out that anindividual's speaking style impacts the first impression, maybe more than wewish. Listenersjudge ourintelligence, our cultural level, our education, even our leadershipability bythe words we select--and by how we say them.

As you follow thesetips, you will be able to present yourself in a positive and professional manner.Remember, it only takes a fraction of a second for others to make uptheir mindabout you, so make it count.

Don’tworry about the future, create it.

-        Kirloskar

You shouldn’t be afraid of the jobinterview. Your interviewers should be afraid of assessing a talented candidatelike you. Good luck.

Every company’s hiring process is alittle bit different. Some of the company takes days to evaluate a candidatewhile others take months. Some require candidates to take a skills assessmentor personality test while others don’t. Irrespective of the hiring processlooks like, though, there’s one step that’s virtually guaranteed: theinterview.

First,rememberthatjobinterviewsshouldbeaprocessoftwo-way communication.Not onlyatool for employerstouseto evaluateyou,but it alsoan opportunityforyouto assessthejob, theorganization,andtoseeif thereisa"fit."

Evaluators are representing theOrganization, and the candidate will see the way they act as indicative of theway the Organization operates. Bearing this in mind, it is important the everycandidate should feel that they have had a fair hearing during their interview.

Interviewing has beencalled an art, and there's no doubt that it calls for insight and creativity. But it's also a science, requiring process, methods, and consistency to producetruly accurate and effective results. Look at it this way: Your art willflourish within the sound framework of a systematic, scientific approach.

Remember thatthe employer is forming a picture of you based on your answers. Their goal isto find the appropriate match to the position.

Interview Exercise and Tips: What is your expectedSalary/CTC?

According to SHRM compensation or pay is the third most important aspect in job satisfaction(60%), right after job opportunities (63%) and job security (61%).

This report shows that being overworkedand yet underpaid leads directly to job dissatisfaction. The catch is,unfortunately, this fixed amount of money you receive was usually set up whenyou sat in that first interview.

"What is yourexpected salary?" is the question that most job seekers have to face injob interviews, but many candidates still cannot avoid being embarrassed whenthey don't know how to give the right answer. Answeringthis question is tricky. If you say a figure that’s too high, you’re likely outof the running, but if you give a number that’s too low, you have undervaluedyour work and your potential contribution to the company. So how do you answerthis question?

But first, the basics

What is a job interview? Basically, an employer has a vacantseat and he wants to find the right piece of the puzzle. The candidate bringstheir piece of the puzzle to the interview to see if it fits.

But most often, as soon as we walk into that strange roomwith strange people, we feel like a gazelle hunted by the lions on thesavannah. Almost instinctively, we try to impress and please them as much as wecan.

Here’s something your prospective employers never tell you:they are already impressed with you. Out of the piles of resumes, theyspecifically handpicked you for an interview. Now their job is to make surethat you are the right piece of the puzzle they’ve been waiting for.

And your job is to figure out if you want to be the rightpiece of the puzzle to complete the set. So,

Good answer:"Before we talk about salary, could you please give me some moreinformation about this job? Could you please tell me how much the company'sbudget is available for this position? Can I know some information about howsalary structure works before we discuss this matter? "

The answer should beavoided: "I'm here to look for promotional opportunities;salary is not the most important issue to me. Whatever the salary company willpropose I believe it is fair and consistent with the abilities of job seekerlike me. "

Passion For Your Job Can Lead To Success

If you want to be successful at yourjob and move up the company ladder you need to be passionate about your work. You need to be motivated and driven to be the best you can be regardless ofyour job or your work. Passion, drive, motivation, zeal, call it what you wantit is the self-driven attitude about your job and your work that can help leadyou down the path to success. Over the weekend while doing research for anotherblog I ran across a quote by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

“If a man is called to be a streetsweeper, he should sweep streets even as Michelangelo painted, or Beethovencomposed music, or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so wellthat all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, here lived a greatstreet sweeper who did his job well.”

For us this jumped out as examples ofboth passion and success. Our success comes not so much from what we do (ourjob), but how well we do it (our passion for our job). It also illustrates thatregardless of your job or your position on the company ladder, you can be successful if you have passionfor your work.

To bepassionate about your work you must be motivated to be the best that you can do.Over time people will notice, how you feel about the change in your job. Whoknows you might even look forward to work on Monday.
